Kindergarten Grading Policy

Kindergarten students will be assessed on their habits, attitudes, and skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies standards. They will also be assessed on Work Habits, Social Habits, Health, and Conduct on quarterly progress reports.

 

The Kindergarten grading scale is: 4 = Exemplary, 3 = Proficient, 2 = Developing, 1 = Beginning. Kindergarten is a developmental grade; it is not unusual for students to have scores of 1 and 2 because they are learning all the routines and foundational skills necessary to be ready for first grade.
