Several students have told me that this morning they were unable to register for the townhall. This is why I said to do it on Monday as it was filling up. If you are on the call, that is your participation grade for the week. If you are unable to attend, I would like you to complete steps 1-5 from the Eric Liu preparation sheet attached here. Open a new google document and complete the questions in steps 1-5.

You and a Partner of your choosing are going on a virtual road trip! Even though we can't go on a real vacation, we can still go on a virtual one. You will research the costs of the trip and where you plan to go, where to stay, the gas it will cost, and anything else you need to figure out for the trip. All the instructions and the rubric is attached. I will be able to answer any questions on Wednesday during our weekly chat. The due date will be Monday April 27th.

Now that you have completed the APARTs for the California Gold Rush, you are to create either an essay or a project for your Journal.
If you choose an essay: 5 paragraph essay with a hook, thesis statement, Intro paragraph, 3 body paragraphs and a conclusion. The goal is to create a character that goes to California looking for gold. Your paper should discuss Getting there, Being there, and Coming home (3 body paragraphs)
If you choose a Prezi/Slideshow/Video
You are creating a character who goes on a journey to California looking for gold. your story should discuss the same three topics as the paper.

This project should be fun with the documents supporting your story.

You will do an APART analysis on each of the documents attached to write a narrative on the California Gold Rush. The APARTs can be done on paper and scanned OR on a Google Document. The final product will be due next week and will be addressed in a separate assignment
