- Use the documents provided for information on your assignment over the next two weeks. You will create a sketchbook (Artist Journal) and then complete at least 2 drawing prompts inside your homemade book.
- The Artist Journal Creation is worth 10 points and the sketches are worth 5 points each for a total of 20 points. See the rubric for grading criteria.
- Please label your sketches with the prompt you chose to draw.

To turn in: please take photos of your work and attach them to this assignment. You may need to take more than one photo of your journal to show the outside cover and then inside pages.

Submit a photo of your sketch for your poetry art. You may receive feedback to re-work areas of your art and will be instructed to submit again if needed. Please add comments to help me understand your work better. Describe what I am looking at and why?

Since we will no longer create a painting, I would like to see color added to your final design. (You may want to submit a pencil drawing first and receive feedback before adding the color)

Using objects you have around the house, create a color wheel, photograph it, and submit it here. Your color wheel should include the primary and secondary colors. Use the picture as an example.

Using the grid provided, add your photo to be used for your final grid drawing. Image should be black and white and only contain your head and top of shoulders.

Steps:
1. Use the image as a reference for how your face should fill up the grid.
2. Delete the image and add your own photo.
3. Click on the photo and select, "Arrange", "Order", and "Send to Back".
4. Resize your photo to fill the entire grid space. You may need to "crop" your photo or enlarge. Make sure to hold the "shift" key if you are re-sizing your image so it does not distort.

Analysis of Artwork

Choose one famous work of art to analyze from the link provided. Copy and paste the art into a document and include title, artist, date, and medium underneath the art. Your document should be saved using your first and last name.

Written analysis:

You will need to include at least three of the following a written analysis:

-subject matter
-characteristics of form and structure
-use of media (type of art material, example: paint, sculpture)
-art making approaches
-relevant contextual information (background knowledge)

How do the above topics contribute to the understanding, mood, or message that is conveyed in the artwork? Some things to think about:
- What do you think is going on in the art?
- What was the artist trying to say?
- Is there a hidden message?
- How do you feel when looking at the art?

Your analysis should be no less than two complete paragraphs.
