Dear Ward School Community,

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to each and every one of you. I hope your summer has been filled with rest, joy, and time with loved ones.

Reflecting on this past year, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Principal of James Ward Elementary. My first year in this role was nothing short of extraordinary, and that is because of the remarkable students, families, and staff who make this school so special. Ward is truly a unique and vibrant community, and I am honored to be a part of it.

From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth, support, and a true sense of belonging. Thank you for so openly welcoming me and for entrusting me with the privilege of working with your children each day. The trust you have placed in me is something I carry with deep respect and responsibility.

This year, we move forward with the theme OnWard Together – Stronger Than Ever. This message is more than just words, it reflects the deep partnership, shared commitment, and collective strength of our Ward community. Together, we will continue to create a learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and challenged to grow.

I have been inspired by our families’ dedication to education and academic excellence, and by how our community embraces and celebrates its diversity. Events like Trunk or Treat, the Harvest Festival, Chinese New Year, Black History Month, AAPI Month, and our seasonal performances are just a few of the many events that we shared. These are a true reflection of who we are - a community that uplifts, celebrates, and learns together. These moments showcase the incredible talents of our students and the strength of our collective spirit.

I am equally grateful to work alongside an exceptional staff of educators who are deeply committed to helping our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Their dedication to nurturing the whole child continues to inspire me each day.

As we look ahead to a new year, I am filled with hope and excitement for all that is to come. Thank you for being such an important part of what makes Ward so special. I look forward to seeing you soon and to a school year full of growth, joy, and unity.

 “OnWard Together…Stronger Than Ever!

Warmly,

Patricia Haas
