Counseling Corner

Hi! I’m Mr. Noce, the School Counselor at James Ward Elementary School. I’m excited to be part of the James Ward community and look forward to getting to know our students and families throughout the school year! Before joining the James Ward community, I have 7 years of experience as an Elementary and PreK–8 school counselor in both Chicago and Kansas City.

As a school counselor, my goal is to help students feel supported, connected, and confident as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Throughout the school year will I provide:

- Classroom Counseling Lessons

- Small-group and Individual Support

- Restorative Conversations

- 5th - 8th Grade: "Success Bound" Classroom Lessons

- 8th Grade: High School Application Process

My counseling approach places a strong emphasis on relationship-building, restorative practices, social-emotional learning, and creating a school environment where students feel comfortable being themselves, asking for help, and learning from challenges.

Outside of school, I love traveling, cooking, going to the lake, listening to music, and playing/watching sports. These interests are also some of my favorite ways to connect with students and learn more about what makes each of them unique.
