James Ward Jaguars P.E.

Physical Education and Health and Wellness

Greetings to all!

Bio: I am a Physical Education and Health and Wellness teacher and have taught for over ten years. I have worked with students from Pre-Kindergarten through high school and represented the school community with a nonprofit parent-teacher organization. In addition, I have coached various sports and activities, from team-building to soccer, volleyball, and basketball, for middle and high school sports teams. I am an avid participant in intramural sports and enjoy the outdoors- camping, hiking, and marathon running are my hobbies. Moreover, I am a lifelong learner, and I am always seeking to advance myself professionally, as well as to continue to advocate for students. I have served Chicago and the surrounding areas well through nonprofit, volunteering efforts, and AmeriCorps.

Hobbies: My hobbies include traveling, spending time with my family, volunteering, cooking, and eating.

Philosophy: JWS Physical Education (P.E.) is based upon acquiring knowledge and skills that are the foundation for engaging in physical activity. The mission of Physical Education is to empower all students to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life. P.E. establishes physical activities undertaking an active, caring, supportive, and non-threatening the atmosphere in which every student is challenged and successful.
